Orc Boyz Update #4

7 more orcs completed:

28.4.2017

Night Goblin Boss

This is the Skull Pass variant. I do have quite a few command group models still left from Skull Pass so I might try to convert a few more with more specific loadouts, such as with an additional hand weapon.

27.4.2017

Night Goblins with spears

Added a bit of variation to the unit with small shield conversions. Also I have versions with bows and only hand weapons, pics coming up soon. Hopefully also I'll get overviews of Skaven and O&G with all of the painted models i have on the table, will take a bit but getting there.

26.4.2017

Warplock Engineers

Again, with the bound spells it took a bit of time to align them to the untit card. But now it's done and it's also time to take new pictures and also to continue painting new models.

From left to right:

Warpflame caster, converted from Island of Blood/Spire of Dawn Engineer
Engineer with Halberd and Brass Orb, converted with 40k Ork runtherd shock prod, "brass orb" from the warpfire thrower, Stormvermin champion body and a gas mask from the plagueclaw catapult crew
Old Metal Engineer with halberd and warplock pistol
Iob/SoD Engineer with halberd and warplock pistol
Engineer with Doomrocker, converted from warpfire thrower crew

24.4.2017

Poisoned Wind Globadiers

See the small guy back there? Since I don't have a dedicated champion model yet I've elected to use him instead if need be.

20.4.2017

Belegar Ironhammer

A bit of rework on the hammer, to give it a more subtle runic glow look.

19.4.2017

Screaming Bell

Lots of special rules with this one. Ninth age version has received substantial improvements since pre 1.0 releases.

18.4.2017

Other Painting Projects section added

Outside of this main project I occasionally paint other miniatures as well. I highly recommend this, as you can challenge yourself with new styles. I will keep the main post feed centered only on the main armies for convenience of those interested in browsing the entries chronologically.

Right now I have added images of my painted Dark Angels for Warhammer 40k and Fellowship of the Ring for Lord of The Rings Strategy Battle Game.

17.4.2017

Albino Council Guard

The Albino Stormvermin accompany Grey Seers as dedicated bodyguards.

16.4.2017

Grey Seers

New Images of Grey Seers

15.4.2017

Skavenslaves

Skavenslaves - They do have armor but to differentiate them from clanrats I've used exlcusively brown cloths and the armor is painted to resemble leather plates instead of metal like regular clanrats.

14.4.2017

Goblin Doom Diver Catapults

Catapults are also now complete:

Skaven Clanrats

Unit update, more will be coming, with included Ninth Age unit cards.

13.4.2017

Goblin Doom Divers

Doom Diver catapult "ammunition". The warmachines themselves are in the works.

12.4.2017

Skaven Pestilens Chieftain

Tried a variety of additional techniques on this one, including decorations along the robe edges.

11.4.2017

T9A Unit Card for Dwarf Clan Warriors

New version for the unit cards, as a sample, made a card for Dwarf Warriors with great weapons. I intend to keep these as simple reference for specific WYSIWYG units, with specific point values and upgrades in the list. As these will be checked in the beginning and end of the game, i feel they don't have to be included in the card, as it limits customization options as well.

Ideally these unit cards will include all the special rules that the "default" unit will have before any additional optional upgrades (like vanguard or veteran standard bearer here.)

The one thing that constantly keeps cluttering the gaming table in my games so far has been heaps of paper rules which you have to flip through, these cards would provide a useful reference point for you and your opponent.

I intend to create additional cards for equipment and special rules as well.

10.4.2017

Orc Shamans

Saved a bit by converting these, blue was not originally planned but i guess it works to accentuate the shamans from inside a unit.

Clanrat Batch Painting Guide

This is the method I've been using for nearly 200 clanrats, broken down into simple steps.

9.4.2017

Warlords of Karak Eight Peaks

Group Shots featuring the generals of each of the armies:

Belegar Ironhammer

King Belegar - this is a slightly converted, and I am quite pleased how it turned out. Most noticeable difference is the head as the face is visible, which I think is more appropriate for the army general.

8.4.2017

Mighty Empires Campaign Year 2 Turn 2

The campaign continues, Clan Mors will be in trouble if they won't get initiative before the beastmen!

7.4.2017

Dwarf Warriors update #4

20 Warriors completed - a brisk pace this week.

6.4.2017

Dwarf Warriors update #3

Ranks are building up! Also now i really think evem more that a neutral brown works really well on the edges of the mail shirt.

5.4.2017

Dwarf Warriors Update #2

Second rank of dwarfs is finished, tried new methods for the skin and armor. Alon with this I decided to paint the edges of the mail shirts brown.

Dwarf Warriors Update #1

First warriors with great weapons are done. This took around 3 hours, also including basecoating and basing. For the next batch I'll try to paint the metallic areas first.

4.4.2017

Skaven Gutter Runners

I mixed some older packmasters in as I've already got plenty enough from the boxed sets.Along with those there are clan rat conversions and metal gutter blades. Black is always a bit tricky to paint, but i tried to avoid a jet-black look so there is a bit of contrast from the weapons.
